Cartoon of vanpoolers on way to work.Sharing a ride can be cheaper and faster than driving alone. And it's easy. Washington and Idaho transit agencies provide the wheels and help to get you going. Whether your group needs a 7, 8, 12, or 15-person van, they will provide the vehicle, insurance and maintenance to keep your van running in tip-top shape. All you need is four others -- in addition to yourself -- to vanpool. Or get as many as 14. The more people in your pool, the lower your fare.

To find vanpool partners, you can:

  • Click on Logon Now or call the Rideshare Hotline at 1-888-814-1300 in Washington or 1-208-345-POOL (7665) in Idaho (TTY relay in both states: 1-800-833-6388) to get a list of interested people with commutes similar to yours.
  • Post notices at work and talk to your co-workers
  • Publicize your new vanpool through the transportation coordinator at your worksite
